The emergency hatch of a Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft in the United States that fell during flight has continued to attract attention. Several regulatory agencies and airlines around the world have grounded this type of aircraft, and it has been found that there are loose components in the same type of aircraft after investigation. On January 12th, Southern Metropolitan Daily learned from the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States that the agency has officially launched an investigation into Boeing's product quality control. Boeing responded that it will cooperate fully and transparently with the relevant investigation.
According to previous reports from Southern Metropolis Daily, on January 5th local time, an emergency hatch fell off an Alaska Airlines flight from Portland, Oregon, and the plane made an emergency landing shortly after. The aircraft involved was a Boeing 737 MAX 9 passenger aircraft. The next day, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States ordered a temporary suspension of Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft operated by American airlines or within the United States for safety inspections. Several regulatory agencies and airlines around the world have also announced the grounding of this type of aircraft. On the 10th local time, Alaska Airlines announced that it had decided to cancel all flights of the same type of Boeing aircraft involved before the 13th local time and continue conducting relevant inspections.
After the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States issued a grounding order, some airlines immediately conducted safety inspections on the Boeing aircraft of the same model and found that there was a problem of "loose bolts" on the aircraft.
On the 9th local time, Boeing held a safety meeting for all employees. At the meeting, Boeing CEO David Calhoun stated on the plane accident that Boeing must first acknowledge its mistakes and will handle this issue in a completely transparent manner. He stated that Boeing needs to convince customers that every Boeing aircraft being flown is safe.
On the 11th local time, the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States officially notified Boeing to conduct an investigation to determine whether Boeing had failed to ensure that completed products met its approved design and were in safe operating conditions in accordance with the agency's regulations. "This incident should not have happened and cannot happen again," Boeing responded, "We will fully and transparently cooperate with the investigation of the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Commission.".
According to foreign media reports, on the 11th local time, Boeing staff tightened six loose fasteners on a key structure on the right side of the fuselage during the repair and assembly process of the aircraft involved in the accident. The structure is facing the emergency hatch that fell in the accident.
