After winning labor negotiations with the three major car manufacturers in Detroit, the United Automobile Workers (UAW) has repeatedly hinted at establishing unions for non union companies. AW has posted a sharp message on its website urging non union automotive workers to join and "win economic justice.". In addition to Tesla and Toyota, the goal of UAW is to bring together workers from major automakers such as Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Subaru, Volkswagen, Mazda, Rivian, Lucid, and Volvo, who collectively employ approximately 150000 American workers.
