On November 8th local time, Reuters reported that retail giant Amazon announced on Wednesday that the company had started layoffs in its music department.
According to insiders, employees in Latin America, North America, and Europe received layoffs notices on Wednesday. An Amazon spokesperson confirmed this news in an interview with Reuters, but declined to disclose how many employees were affected by the latest round of layoffs.
According to incomplete statistics, Amazon has laid off more than 27000 employees this year. In January, Amazon laid off 18000 employees, marking the largest layoff in the company's history. In March, as the company continued to cut costs, Amazon laid off another 9000 employees.
