On October 29th, Southern Metropolis Daily learned from the Shanghai Market Supervision Bureau that Xinuofei (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinuofei") will recall 3727 Philips brand ultraviolet air disinfection machines, due to the risk of igniting the casing when using the product in severely humid environments. On the same day, Xinnuofei's official customer service told Nandu reporters that the company had made targeted upgrades to related products and provided free replacement services for consumers.
Product information involved.
According to the Shanghai Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, Signify recalled 3727 Philips brand ultraviolet air disinfection machines produced from August 1, 2021 to December 15, 2022 from October 29 to April 28, 2025.
The reason for the recall is that using this product in severely humid environments may cause arcing reactions on the circuit board, posing a risk of igniting the casing. Consumers should immediately stop using the product. The company will post a recall plan at offline sales outlets and arrange one-on-one exchanges.
On the 29th, the official customer service of Signify stated to Southern Metropolis Daily reporters that the product in question may cause electrical malfunctions in extremely high humidity environments. "It is okay to use it normally, but there are still safety hazards. If the product is within the recall scope, it is recommended to replace it with a new one. The company has specifically upgraded the relevant products to eliminate safety hazards and provided free replacement services for consumers
The customer service representative also stated that consumers can first confirm whether the product they are using is within the scope of the recall. The first step is to check if the code on the product base label is one of the following codes: 911401563881, 911401561991, 911401573191, 911401565381, 911401573291. The second step is to open the back cover of the product and check the UVC code on the white label inside the border. The last eight digits of the code are the date. Please check if this date falls between August 1, 2021 and December 15, 2022. After confirmation, consumers can call the customer service hotline to inquire about subsequent product recycling matters.
According to public information, Signify (formerly Philips Lighting) was founded in 1891 in Eindhoven, Netherlands. After becoming independent from the Royal Philips Group in 2016, Signify was listed on the European Stock Exchange in Amsterdam.
