Canadian mining company Lithium Americas announced on October 16th local time that it has signed a new investment agreement with General Motors to establish a joint venture responsible for the financing, development, construction, and operation of the Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada. According to the terms of the investment agreement, General Motors will acquire 38% ownership of Thacker Pass's assets for a total of $625 million in cash and letters of credit.
