On August 23rd local time, the three major US stock indices collectively closed higher, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising more than 460 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 462.30 points, or 1.14%, to 41175.08 points; The Nasdaq rose 258.44 points, or 1.47%, to 17877.79 points; The S&P 500 index rose 63.97 points, or 1.15%, to 5634.61 points.
Most large tech stocks have risen. Tesla and Nvidia rose over 4%, TSMC, Qualcomm, Broadcom, Intel, and AMD Semiconductor rose over 2%, AMD Computer, Boeing, Google-A, and Apple rose over 1%, Oracle, Amazon, and Microsoft rose slightly, while ASML, Netflix, and Meta fell slightly.
Chinese concept stocks fluctuated, with the Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index (HXC) closing up 0.28%. Bilibili rose over 15%, Kingsoft Cloud rose over 3%, Alibaba, Tiger Securities, and NIO rose over 2%, Xiaopeng Motors and Vipshop rose over 1%, Huya, JD, and Futu Holdings rose slightly, Tencent Music, Baidu, NetEase, Ideal Auto, and Ctrip fell slightly, New Oriental fell over 2%, Pinduoduo fell over 4%, and iQiyi fell 10%.
