On July 8, Alipay announced the upgrading of bar code payment experience and the launch of "Alipay Touch". Users do not need to display payment codes, unlock their mobile phones and touch the merchant's collection devices, so that they can complete payment as soon as possible.
Compared with the existing Alipay "sweep", "touch" is more simple and direct. The original user needs to click the payment code after entering the Alipay App. The steps are divided into three steps, and the "touch" is the fastest step to complete the payment.
It is reported that both "touch" and "scan" belong to barcode payment. The difference lies in the use of the display screen and camera on the phone for "scanning", and the use of near-field communication technology on the phone for "touching". After completing the interaction using the above sensors, the payment is completed on the network end, and both have equal security. At the same time, Alipay still promises "I will pay you if you dare".
At present, there are 900 million Android users and 200 million Apple users among domestic mobile phone users. "Alipay Touch" supports both Android phones and Apple phones. After upgrading to the latest version of Alipay App, you can "touch" it.
The first batch of trial merchant data shows that "touch" is more popular due to its simplicity. 61% of young people will use it continuously after using it once, and the elderly population also likes it.
It is reported that Alipay launched its first bar code payment product in July 2011, and then upgraded the bar code to two-dimensional code. "Scan" has become the most daily payment method for Chinese people. In December 2018, Alipay launched a face brushing payment service that does not require mobile phones. "Brush" has become a favorite of users in many scenarios. This "touch" upgrade on the basis of "barcode payment" has brought users a better payment experience.
At present, more than 2300 brands and businesses in six cities, including Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changsha, Hangzhou and Fuzhou, have successively accessed the "Alipay Touch", such as Hongqi, Meiyijia, 7-11, Dui, Yike, Liangpin Shops and other convenience stores, Shanghai Jing'an Joy City, Chengdu Vientiane City, Longhu Hangzhou Riverside Sky Street, Wuhan Aeon Dream City, Changsha Guojin Street, Fuzhou Yantai Mountain Commercial Walk Block and other shopping malls and blocks, as well as catering brands, such as Mr. Rice, Paris Beatrice, Xianfeng Fruit, Yiming Real Milk Bar, and Dole Day, have supported the user experience of "Touch".
