The latest released consumer confidence index unexpectedly fell to a seven month low due to the continued impact of high prices in the United States on personal financial conditions. On Friday (June 14th) local time, a report released by the University of Michigan in the United States showed that the initial value of the US Consumer Confidence Index in June recorded 65.6, the lowest level since December 2023, lower than the 69.1 of the previous month, and the market originally believed it would rise to 72.
