As large US technology companies continue to increase their investment in the field of artificial intelligence, more and more giants have begun to look beyond the United States, investing billions of dollars in building artificial intelligence infrastructure, and an "arms race" is quietly unfolding.
According to industry statistics, the total investment of Microsoft and Amazon in global artificial intelligence and data center projects has exceeded 40 billion US dollars so far this year.
Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives said in an interview that overall, large technology companies are seeking to "expand their wings and soar" into the international market. This is an arms race in artificial intelligence, driven by this wave of spending, Microsoft, Amazon, and other technology companies are working hard to seize the opportunity.
DA Davidson analyst Gil Luria also predicts that these companies will spend over $100 billion on AI infrastructure this year, and technology companies will continue to invest heavily in AI infrastructure over the next 10 years. The total annual expenditure in this field is expected to reach trillions.
Currently, Microsoft and Amazon are undoubtedly at the forefront of this arms race. Both have large triple digit data centers worldwide to meet the growing business needs of customers.

Microsoft's global investment plan for the next few years has exceeded $16 billion, distributed in France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Spain, and Indonesia.
Amazon plans to invest $15 billion in infrastructure in Japan, $9 billion in Singapore, $5 billion in Mexico, and $1.3 billion in France.
Luria said, "As more and more parts of the world migrate to the cloud, it is more necessary to establish these data centers in the areas where this transformation occurs. Due to faster processing times of local facilities, coupled with data privacy and security issues, companies need data centers filled with Nvidia GPUs to be built locally."
It is worth mentioning that compared to the global ambitions of Microsoft and Amazon, currently Google and Meta have basically restricted most of their AI and data center related investments to the United States.
However, Wedbush's Ives predicts that they will also follow Microsoft and Amazon's lead and actively expand overseas.
Luria also pointed out that for these companies, data center expansion will be a "natural part of business development".
