Goldman Sachs raised its long-term growth projections for the United States and many other major economies, as the generation of artificial intelligence (AI) is likely to increase productivity over the next decade. In the United States, this technology is expected to boost gross domestic product (GDP) growth by 0.1 percentage points in 2027 and to increase to 0.4 percentage points in 2034. The impact of AI has pushed Goldman Sachs' forecast of GDP growth in the United States upwards to 2 per cent in 2027 and 2.3 per cent in 2034. In the euro area, AI will provide a 0.1 percentage point boost to GDP growth starting in 2028 and increasing to 0.3 per cent by 2034. Goldman Sachs expects the region to grow by 1.4 per cent. In Japan, AI ' s boost to GDP will reach 0.3 percentage points by 2033, boosting GDP growth to 0.9 per cent.
